Ettore Sottsass, architect, designer, painter, ceramist, photographer and writer, was one of the leading protagonists of Italian twentieth-century design. His talent for using colour as a basic element of his expression brought to life his buildings and creations, which range from industrial design for large international companies (NTT, Apple Computer, Siemens), to interior design (Milan, Malpensa airport, 2000) and town planning (Seoul).

After the volume Sottsass Enamels 1958, published by AdArte in 2010, Fulvio Ferrari is now bringing out the catalogue raisonné of the designer’s ceramics, counting one thousand pieces all illustrated in colour, starting from 1955, when Sottsass began to design ceramics. Thus the catalogue Ferrari published more than twenty years ago, in 1996, is now thoroughly updated and enlarged by about 200 new pieces.

Fulvio Ferrari, founder of the Museo Casa Mollino in Turin, has published more than twenty books, such as Carlo Mollino Polaroid, Gabetti & Isola Mobili, The Furniture of Carlo Mollino and, for AdArte Publisher, Sottsass Enamels 1958 (2010) and Mollino Plywood 1951 (2014).
